Transfer applicants who meet the following criteria will receive direct admission to Radford University*:
* Applicants to the nursing program must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Students are admitted to Radford University as pre-nursing and are required to apply complete a nursing department application.
*Direct admission is not offered to degree completion programs (business administration, respiratory therapy,) , fast-track programs (RN-to-BSN), or programs that require faculty review (medical laboratory science).
*Music and dance majors must have a successful audition in their respective program.
1. Complete Radford's application or list Radford on the Common App. Information to keep in mind as you complete your application:
2. Submit transcripts from all colleges attended, whether or not credit was earned or is desired. This includes transcripts from dual-enrollment courses taken in high school as well as official score reports for Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses.
An unofficial copy of transcripts may be used for admission review; however, an official copy directly from issuing institution is required prior to enrollment and for transferable credit review. Students must be in good standing at their most current institution to be considered for admission.
If you have completed fewer than 24 semester hours of college-level coursework, please also submit your high school transcript with your application.
3. Check the status of your application using your Highlander Portal to ensure all materials are received. Once a decision is made, you'll see it here first!
The Admissions staff automatically reviews all applicants with a completed application by March 1 for our Transfer Excellence Scholarship and Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.
Admitted incoming students may choose to apply for Foundation scholarships; the priority deadline to apply for a Foundation scholarship is Feb 5.
We strongly encourage all students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at studentaid.gov by the March 1 priority deadline and students planning to participate in the Radford Tuition Promise program must submit their FAFSA by March 1. The FAFSA is how we determine federal and state grants, loans and work study programs for which you may be eligible. Our financial aid team is available to assist you and your family with questions about the FAFSA .
We will release decisions for fall applicants beginning November 15. After this date, decisions will be reviewed on a rolling basis and applicants can expect a decision typically 2-3 weeks after their application is complete.
Admission notifications are posted in our Highlander Portal and sent through postal mail. If your address has changed since you applied or you need us to resend instructions on how to activate your applicant portal, please contact us at admissions@radford.edu to update your information.
