Food Dollars

Food dollars are non-discounted dollars that spend like cash in any dining location. They are meant to supplement for spending over the $9.78 exchange rate. Food dollars are tax-free and can be added to all meal plans.

Exchange Rate

The exchange rate refers to the allotted value of a swipe in a on campus retail location. One "meal" is equivalent to $9.78 to spend at any retail location on campus.

Cash Door Rate (2024-2025) - if a meal plan or food dollars are not used:

  • Breakfast: $9.02
  • Lunch/Brunch: $13.52
  • Dinner: $16.06

Door rate sales are taxable at a rate of 10.8%.  Meal plan purchases and food dollars are not taxed.
